How long do your trips last?
Our day trips are approximately 4 1/2 hours. We leave in the early afternoon and return after sunset.
What should we bring on the trip?
You should bring sunscreen, sunglasses, or a hat and you will want to bring your camera. We provide all snorkeling equipment on the snorkel trips.
What is included in the trip?
All of our trips include an open bar with a wide assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, food and a free t-shirt.
Where do we meet to go on the tour?
Our meeting place is on the beach in front of Restaurant Pescador. El Pescador is about 100 meters south of the "circle" that is the center of Tamarindo.
What if I go on the snorkel sail but I don't want to snorkel?
That's fine. We also have kayaks and other floats for you to enjoy in the water. Feel free to just stay on board and relax with a cold drink.
What do we do if it rains?
In light rain, we will most likely sail anyway. Most of the green season has rain showers that only last a few minutes and then the sun will return. In the case of a thunderstorm or heavy rain showers at the tie of departure, the trip will be cancelled.
What is your reservation and cancellation policy?
To make a reservation for one of our trips, contact us or book your trip through your hotel or local tour operator. When you reserve a trip on Blue Dolphin, we are saving a place for you. We spent time and energy preparing food and drinks for your enjoyment and therefore have incorporated the following cancellation policy:
~ Full refunds can be made up to 48 hours go the trip date/time.
~ Within 48 hours of the trip, we will do out best to accommodate a change in date due for our daily tour.

Where do you go for snorkeling and what can we expect to see?
Depending on weather conditions, we usually go to Playa Carbon, Playa Conejo or Bahia Pirates. We often see schools of tropical fish, puffer fish and sometimes rays. We also spot green turtles, leatherback turtles, moray eels and both manta and eagle rays. It is also possible to spot dolphins and sometimes even whales from the boat.
How many people go on the boat?
We can take up to 40 passengers but usually limit ourselves to around 30 people to ensure that everyone has plenty of room to move around. At times during busy season we are full and at times during low season you may end up with a private charter!
Can we rent the whole boat?
Yes! We do a lot of private day charters and can accommodate groups of up to 35 passengers. A private charter is perfect for families, wedding groups, birthday parties or just when you want to do something special. The cost of a private charter varies widely and depends on the number of passengers, length of charter, time of day and time of year. Contact us and we will be happy to put together a customized trip to suit your needs.
